Jazzie Murphy (she/they) is a solution-focused, equity-driven higher education practitioner with over 15 years of professional experience that spans both the California State University and California Community College systems. Jazzie has served students in the areas of outreach & recruitment, admissions, new student orientation, financial aid, academic advising and first year experience. Most recently, Jazzie led one of the largest community colleges in the state through a cultural and institutional change to create holistic college-wide student support teams. With an aggressive focus on equity and high-quality student service, Jazzie brings a wealth of experience, both professional and lived, as well as a servant-leadership style that supports leaders and practitioners at every level of higher education.

Jazzie is a Sacramento native, a parent and a mentor. When Jazzie is not serving the field of higher education, you can find her cheering for 49ers and the Sacramento Kings and leading teams in the cannabis industry.
