Thinking about placement innovation

Emerging questions from a national study of Placement-As-Transformation.

In Fall 2023, we launched a placement innovation study to explore how placement practices are evolving at broad-access institutions and how reforms can drive transformative change. Recognizing that developmental education reforms have yet to fully ensure equitable outcomes for all students, we focused on reimagining placement with equity-forward design and systemic considerations. This brief shares key questions and exploratory findings, setting the stage for future research and implementation innovation.
